OBJECTIVES
At the end of the program, the participant will be able to:

  1. Understand the anatomic and physiologic changes during the aging process.
  2. Understand menopause and its effect on the body.
  3. Understand the controversy on the issue of hormone replacement therapy and other alternative methods in managing the symptoms.
  4. Discuss the developmental tasks and issues facing the middle-aged families and practical strategies to deal with spouse, teenage children, and aging parents.
  5. Develop an awareness of nursing career options and available resources that help support nurses in their quest for career advancement.
  6. Discuss the impact of managed care in health care delivery and nursing profession.

ACCREDITATION
Through Continuing Education of Health Midwest
This program has been approved for 6.4 contact hours by the Missouri Nurses Association which is an accredited approver of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
