PNAGKC GOALS for 1999-2000
- Increase community involvement with more active
participation through voluntary civic and health
activities.
- Increase membership through a well implemented
recruitment and retention process.
- Establish a relationship with local chapter of MONA
and KNA (Kansas Nurses' Association), and join MONA's
Annual
Nurse Lobby Day.
- Increase educational opportunities to members and
promote nursing research focusing on the needs of the
Filipino-
American.
- Increase professional networking by establishing a
relationship with local specialty nursing group.
- Augment fundraising efforts to add to the
association's financial stability and strength.
- Establish a permanent office for PNAGKC in
collaboration with the Filipino Cultural Center
Foundation and initiate
our own organization archive.
- Form a committee on human rights and legislation to
address the needs and concerns of nurses with H-I visa
and
new nurses who come to the US to work.
- Create a scholarship fund for deserving nursing
students in the Philippines. Its feasibility is to be
evaluated further.
