… it's not what you've done but what you're doing that matters.

In Hollywood, there's a saying that it's not what you've done but what you're doing that matters.  It holds true for our group here in Kansas City.  Three months ago, we held one of the biggest anniversary celebrations that PNAGKC has ever had.  The guests have left; the jury has spoken.  The committee members overwhelmingly hit their mark.  That was then.

Fast forward to the present.  Seven members of the PNAGKC are gearing up with luggage, costumes and props in hand headed for where?  The 22nd Annual PNAA Convention and chapter challenge.  As president of the Greater Kansas City Chapter, I am so overwhelmed by the enthusiasm the delegates have shown in preparation of this four-day event.  Moreover, well wishes from other members will be with us as we take pride in representing our chapter.

Two projects for the summer are in the making at this time.  The first is the annual PMS/PNAGKC Golf Tournament that would benefit the Medical Mission to the Philippines.  We still need volunteers for this event, which has always been fun to do.  The second project is a modification of the annual PNAGKC picnic.  This year the officers and board members have decided to do an overnight camping on the eve of the picnic at a place still being decided at this time.  Some friends from the FAGKC leadership have also expressed interest in this project.  Sound fun, doesn't it?  Well,  you'll have to be there to find out.

As some of you may not know,  the  PNAGKC is the very first PNAA chapter to conquer the Internet with its own functional web site.  I am impressed with how the PNAA and the PNAGKC have embraced technology as a means of better communication.  Most of you have also encountered our E-mail Group at Yahoogroups, which I personally oversee.  It has been a joy to see information exchange between members with no holds barred and virtual freedom to express your thoughts.  Try it sometime.  You'll be amazed.

Lastly,  I would like to thank the membership for giving me elbowroom for the first six months of my presidency.  A lot has yet to be accomplished and goals have yet to be realized.
