Christmas Gifts

PNAGKC gave Christmas gifts in the form of gift certificates and disposable cameras as requested from
women and children being served by Synergy Services, Inc.

This organization is a United Way Agency and started
as the only shelter for runaway and homeless youth in
Western, Missouri in 1970 and was known as the Synergy House. Another shelter opened in 1984, called Safe Haven and it served the victims of domestic violence, provided counseling, court advocacy, and support groups. The Children's Advocacy Council also in the mid '80's began offering mentoring prevention and
programming services to high-risks youth group. In 1997, all these three agencies merged into what is
now Synergy Services, Inc. It provides crisis hotlines
and provides continuum of care from the moment a
client enters one of their shelters. Synergy not only works to break the cycle of violence but it focuses on
improving social relationships, thus building a safe, more humane society.
